iftop-dbg software package provides displays bandwidth usage information on an network interface (debug), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install iftop-dbg
iftop-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the iftop-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep iftop-dbg *
You will get with iftop-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
